I have voted over 30 times to defund, dismantle or repeal Obamacare. This terrible law imposes more mandates, more taxes and is driving up the cost of health care. Obamacare also jeopardizes Oklahoma’s rural hospitals, which are already struggling.
Last year, I helped author the Protecting Affordable Coverage for Employees Act (H.R. 1624), to protect small businesses and their employees from interruptions to health insurance coverage and skyrocketing premiums that would have resulted from yet another Obamacare mandate. Fortunately, the bill had strong bipartisan support and was signed into law.
Instead of more government intervention into our personal health care decisions, I favor reforms that are market-based, patient-centered and which actually solve some of the problems in the health care system – not create an entirely new system with layer upon layer of new problems and bureaucracy.
